આત્મગૌરવી, કરુણાગામી, સાગરપેટો ગુજરાતી.

On a certain day when the Blessed One
dwelt at Jetavana, the garden of Anathapindika,
a celestial deva came to him in the shape of a Brahman
enlightened and wearing clothing as white as snow.

The deva asked,
What is the sharpest sword?
What is the deadliest poison?
What is the fiercest fire?
What is the darkest night?”

The Blessed One replied,
The sharpest sword is a word spoken in wrath;
the deadliest poison is covetousness;
the fiercest fire is hatred;
the darkest night is ignorance.

The deva said,
What is the greatest gain?
What is the greatest loss?
Which armour is invulnerable?
What is the best weapon?

The Blessed One replied,
The greatest gain is to give to others;
the greatest loss is to greedily receive without gratitude;
an invulnerable armor is patience;
the best weapon is wisdom.

The deva said,
Who is the most dangerous thief?
What is the most precious treasure?
Who can capture the heavens and the earth?
Where is the securest treasure-trove?

The Blessed One replied,
The most dangerous thief is unwholesome thought;
the most precious treasure is virtue;
the heavens and the earth may be captured by the mind’s eye;
surpassing rebirth locates the securest treasure-trove.

The deva asked,
What is attraction?
What is repulsion?
What is the most horrible pain?
What is the greatest enjoyment?

The Buddha replied,
Attraction is wholeness;
repulsion is unwholesomeness;
the most tormenting pain is bad conscience;
the height of bliss is redeemed awakening.

The deva asked,
What causes ruin in the world?
What breaks off friendships?
What is the most violent fever?
Who is the best physician?”

The Blessed One replied,
Ruin in the world is caused by ignorance;
friendships are broken off by envy and selfishness;
the most violent fever is hatred;
the best physician is the Buddha;

The deva continued,
Now I have only one doubt to resolve and absolve:
What is it fire cannot burn,
nor moisture corrode,
nor wind crush down,
but is able to enlighten the whole world.

The Buddha replied,
Blessing!
Neither fire, nor moisture, nor wind
can destroy the blessing of good deeds,
and blessings enlighten the whole world.

Amazing knock by Watson against Bangladesh. If they would have batted first they could have scored 400 !! Or if Bangladesh would have scored 300 around runs.. Shane Watson would have broken the Sachin’s record of 200 in ODI. But these are just the speculations ! The knock just shows the class of a batsman. You could always argue that it was against Bangladesh, but I don’t agree with that. IPL will be dearly awaiting Shane Watson for sure !!

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She reduced altitude and spotted a man below. She descended a bit more and shouted, “Excuse me Sir, can you help me? I promised a friend, I would meet him an hour ago but I don’t know where I am.”

The man below replied, “You’re in a hot air balloon hovering approximately 30 feet above the ground. You’re between 40 and 41 degrees north latitude and between 59 and 60 degrees west longitude.”

”You must be an engineer,” said the lady balloonist.

“I am”, replied the man. ‘How did you know?’

”Well”, answered the lady in the balloon, “everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to make of your information, and the fact is I’m still lost. Frankly, you’ve not been much help to me at all. If anything, you’ve delayed my trip even more.”

The engineer below responded, “You must be in Top Management.”

”I am”, replied the lady balloonist, “but, how did you know?”
“Well,” said the Engineer, “You don’t know where you are, or where you’re going. You made a promise, which you’ve no idea how to keep, and you expect people beneath you, to solve your problems.”

I’m forgetting lot of things now. May be it is not that easy to remember every little details. Once you know what has to be done and what your instinct says — it tells lot about what you have remembered. Visuals comes at their own will. they leave at their own will. they are capricious in nature.

If you’ve been magically attracted to something, what if they don’t uplift you. rather it leaves you drained.you forget that and once again see the same thing magically attracting. You’ll forget what will happen now. Once you forget what that magic meant to you, all will be forgotten.

Murder Prescription

A nice, calm and respectable lady went into the pharmacy, walked up to the pharmacist, looked straight into his eyes, and said, “I’d like to buy some cyanide.”
The pharmacist asked, “Why in the world do you need cyanide?”

The lady replied, “I need it to poison my husband.”

The pharmacist’s eyes got big and he explained,
“Lord have mercy! I can’t give you cyanide to kill your husband, that’s against the law? I’ll lose my licence! They’ll throw both of us in jail! All kinds of bad things will happen.
Absolutely not! You CANNOT have any cyanide!”

The lady reached into her purse and pulled out a picture of her husband in bed with the pharmacist’s wife.

The pharmacist looked at the picture and said, “You didn’t tell me you had a prescription!”
